Education
We teach a number of courses in both the Bachelor's and Master's degree study programme, mostly related to hydrothermal processes and ore deposits, geochronology, and numerical modelling.
Student projects
Every year we offer opportunities for Bachelor's and Master's projects on a broad range of topics. Get in touch.
Excursions and field trips
Excursions and field courses to areas of active and past mining activity are an essential part of our teaching. Our trips give an insight into the work of mine and exploration geologists, including geophysical measurements, geochemical data handling, economic evaluation, etc.
Students will understand the regional and local geology as a framework for ore deposit formation, discuss actual ore deposits and their position within this framework during mine visits, study similarities and differences between processes leading to the formation of different ore deposit types, and obtain insight into challenges linking economic geology and mining with social and environmental constraints.
